Although permitted by the FDA, ethoxyquin is a pesticide and should not be used in pet treats. It has also been shown to cause mortality in fish. Why would any manufacturer use this chemical? I know, it is not in the biscuits, but Hills did put it into the training treats at “an acceptable level” (75 ppm is acceptable). Any level of anything toxic should not be used in dog treats. Hills, please, use something else to extend the shelf-life of fats!
